Kofi Bentsi Bentil – Lead Partner

Kofi Bentsi Bentil is the Lead Partner at Bentil Law. He is a practicing lawyer with a proven track record of securing notable victories for individuals, businesses, and the public interest. 

Beyond his legal practice, Kofi is a respected Business Strategy Lecturer and Consultant, having taught at prestigious institutions such as Ashesi University, the University of Ghana Business School (Executive MBA), and the Kofi Annan ICT Centre in Accra. He also conducts annual corporate training programs on Business Strategy, Services Marketing, and Management Skills.

In addition to his legal and academic pursuits, Kofi serves as the Vice President and Policy Analyst of IMANI Ghana, a top-ranking African think tank. His focus areas include Energy Policy, Education, and Infrastructure. Among his many successes, Kofi led a groundbreaking constitutional law case on the Right to Information in Ghana – an achievement that redefined how citizens can access information under Ghana’s Constitution.

Kofi’s leadership and expertise extend to the corporate sphere. In 2015, he served as General Manager of Accent Financial Services, guiding a major restructuring effort. 

He has been a judge for various business plan competitions, including the Google “Believe Begin Become” Competition and the Government of Ghana’s Private Sector Development Competitions. 

Recognitions for his innovative contributions include the World Bank’s Global Development Marketplace Award and induction into the Africa Leadership Network of the Aspen Institute’s Global Leadership Network. 

He also received an award in 2015 for his “Visionary Guidance and Undaunting Leadership” in mentoring young leaders through the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI).

Kofi is a founding executive member of the Ghana Association of IT Services Companies (GASSCOM) and continues to advise Mpedigree, a technology firm providing authentication solutions for pharmaceutical products. 

He previously led marketing and business strategy efforts for IT companies and served as a strategist for Enterprise Insurance Co. Ltd. 

His academic background includes a B.A. in Geography and Resources Development, an MBA in Marketing, and a second MBA in Think Tank Management, as well as a Post-Graduate LLB from the University of Ghana and a Qualifying Certificate in Law (QCL) from the Ghana Law School. 

Widely published and sought after for his insights on governance and policy matters, Kofi is also an accomplished speaker who has traveled extensively, sharing his expertise both locally and internationally. He is also a very talented musician, a maestro on several musical instruments.

Akushika Amu – Partner

Akushika Amu is a Partner at Bentil Law with a strong background in corporate and commercial law. 

She earned her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology and subsequently received her Qualifying Certificate in Law (QCL) from the Ghana Law School. Akushika’s legal career began at the Civil Division of the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General’s Department, where she gained invaluable insight into government operations and procedures.

Akushika has extensive experience advising both local and international clients on business setup, regulatory compliance, and commercial transactions. Her work spans the Oil and Gas, Insurance, Finance, and Hospitality sectors, including drafting and reviewing commercial agreements as well as providing comprehensive corporate legal advisory services. 

Before joining Bentil Law, she served as an Associate at Prime Attorneys, where she honed her skills in corporate and commercial practice.

Her professional strengths include due diligence, corporate governance, and compliance, as well as structuring deals and handling legal questions in business operations ranging from employment issues to private securities placements. 

Akushika has also been involved in a variety of financing transactions, trade and investment initiatves, and negotiations with institutional lenders.
